How to Maintain a Hot Tub During Different Seasons

Maintaining a hot tub year-round ensures it’s always ready for relaxation, regardless of the season. Here’s a seasonal guide to keeping your hot tub in optimal condition:

Spring

Spring is the ideal time for a deep clean. Drain and thoroughly scrub the tub to remove any buildup from winter use. Check and replace filters if necessary, and balance the water with fresh chemicals.

Summer

In the summer heat, lower the water temperature to create a refreshing soak. Regularly test and adjust chemical levels, as heat can impact water quality. Consider adding a cover to shield against UV rays and prevent algae growth.

Fall

Fall is a great time to prepare your hot tub for colder weather. Clean or replace the filters, inspect your cover for any wear, and ensure the heater is functioning properly to keep it ready for cooler evenings.

Winter

If you live in a colder region and plan to use your hot tub during winter, set it to a consistent temperature and use an insulated cover to retain heat. Check water levels frequently, as cold weather can cause evaporation. If you’re not using the hot tub, consider winterizing it by draining and cleaning to prevent freezing.
